Imagine my delight upon discovering a pair of robins building a nest in our cherry tree. After all, we have lived here for over 22 years and it is the first time any birds have nested in our tiny 15 ft x 20 ft front yard. As Baltimore area temperatures hit new record highs I watched in awe as the mother dutifully shielded her brood from the 102 degree heat with her own body. All nest photographs were taken through the window from the second story. No fossil fuels were burned in the creation of these photos.
